A long time ago there was a question posed to me about the perfect Mad Gringo vehicle.
It should be rugged.
It doesn't need to start all the time so we have an excuse to walk here and there.
It should remind me of life in the big bank.
It needs to smell. Just a little.
And, last but not least, it needs to look good with Mad Gringo stickers. And have a Go Slow license plate.
We looked at old Mercedes, at VW buses, at Land Cruisers, at Jeeps, there was even a scooter phase. . . then there she was. Like disco lemonade.
I give you the 1995 Land Rover Range Rover Classic LWB.
Driver's side door is a little tricky. It's been "tagged" by a front loader. The hood doesn't quite close.
And she smells.
But I love her. She's all mine as of yesterday.
If the gods shine upon me and Dennis from Rover-Renovations.com, we should have this thing running by month end. Her debut will be at the Northwest Buyers show in Minneapolis early September.
My inner Mad Gringo is happy.
Go slow.
